How To Take Care Of Your Beautiful Silk Rugs :
God has given some special skill to craftmen who can weave nice and beautiful silk carpets. These are one of most expensive carpets. One has to be highly careful while cleaning these kind of carpets.
The pile of the Silk rugs or say silk carpets are made from original silk which are being harvested from the cocoons of silk worms. Please read the following points carefully :
a. The first important thing is the dirt in your silk carpets, which has to be taken out. Being absorbed inside the rug, you first raise the carpet and turn the rug down from backside, so that the front portion of the rug is down and beat slowly, it loosens the dirt caught inside the silk fibers. Be very careful that you beat from back not from front other wise the pile will get damage.
b. After this vaccum your rug so that the loosen dirt is extracted.
This is when the rug is dirty. to prevent this you should vaccum your rug once in 2 weeks, depending upon the usage, so that dirt is not assembled inside the silk rug.
There are many times that in addition to above, which you should take care as :
a . This is normal that something may fall on the rug. If any liquid is fallen on silk carpets, Blot the rug immediately with a white cloth or paper towel, until all liquid is removed. Then dab the club soda onto the stain, working from outside the stain toward the inside. If this is not convenient for you, you may also mix one part white vinegar and one part water and apply this to the stain, continue blotting until the stain is removed.
b. After the above is done properly dry the damp area with a hair dryer or leave a fan running on the rug until the area is dry, try to avoid sunlight, because sometimes its too hard.
Storage : There are chances that you go out for long time or when you do not want to use the silk rugs, in that case store a silk rug by rolling it up with the fuzzy side on the outside. Use the sheet to cover, the roll to avoid any dust, this will make it fresh and live when you open again for use.
